Question 2

What GPA do I need to study in Germany as an Indian student?

Accepted Answer

German universities convert your Indian percentage using the Modified Bavarian Formula. Top universities like TU Munich and RWTH Aachen typically require 70%+ (German grade ~2.3–2.5). State universities are accessible from 60%+.

Question 3

Do I need German language to study Masters in Germany?

Accepted Answer

No. Over 2,000 Master's programs in Germany are offered fully in English. You typically need IELTS 6.5–7.5 or TOEFL 80–100. Some programs require basic German (A1/B1) — we verify requirements for each target university.

To get a German student visa, you must show €11,904 deposited in a German blocked account (Sperrkonto). This proves you can cover one year of living costs. Deutsche Bank, Fintiba, and Coracle are the accepted providers.

Question 5

Question 6

How much does it cost to study in Germany for Indian students?

Accepted Answer

Tuition at public German universities is free — you only pay a semester fee of €150–350. Monthly living costs are €800–1,200 depending on the city. Munich and Frankfurt are expensive; Chemnitz, Kaiserslautern, and Magdeburg are very affordable.

Question 7

How do I convert my Indian CGPA to a German grade?

Accepted Answer

Use the Modified Bavarian Formula: German Grade = (100 − Indian%) × 3 / 70 + 1. If your university gives CGPA out of 10, multiply by 10 first (or by 9.5 if CBSE-affiliated). For example, 8.0 CGPA × 10 = 80% → German grade ≈ 1.86 (Gut). Our free calculator on narpavioverseas.com handles all conversions including CGPA/4 and CGPA/7 scales.

Question 8

Which is the best consultancy for studying in Germany from India?

Accepted Answer

We help with APS certificate, Uni-Assist, SOP writing, and visa preparation. Free eligibility check available at narpavioverseas.com.

Question 9

Can I study in Germany without IELTS or TOEFL?

Accepted Answer

Yes, some German universities accept medium of instruction letters from your previous university as proof of English proficiency, especially if your bachelor's degree was taught in English. However, top universities like TUM and RWTH require IELTS 7.0+ or TOEFL 95+. We assess which universities accept MOI letters for your specific profile.
